Biofuels andBio Liquids

With the continuous pressure on the use of fossil fuel and the need to reduce global warming effects caused by the greenhouse gases emitted during combustion of these fuels, biofuels and bio liquids provide a great solution to tackle this situation.

Biofuels and bio liquids are carbon neutral and cheaper sources of fuel made from biogenic waste or residue sources. They are sustainable alternatives compared to the mineral oil based heavy and light fuels such as diesel. Many countries have gone as far as setting national targets to utilize the renewable energy sources and minimize their reliance on the use the fossil fuels. Biofuels are among the best and reliable renewable energy source to help achieve those targets.

The European Unionaddressed the issue of the impacts and effects involved in the production of biofuels and bio liquids by the biofuel companies through the introduction of RED, the Renewable Energy Directive in 2009, recently amended into the Directive 2015/1513.

MBP Solution Biofuels

Since 1999, MBP has been actively involved with biofuels and bio liquids but it was in 2002 when the first biofuel storage and factory facility was set up.Since then the company has managed to work closely with many energy producers who appreciate the quality of service and products they offer. MBP possessextensive experience in sourcing, supplying and utilizing biofuels and bio liquids for various installations.

MBP biofuels and bio liquids are very effective in a wide range of applications whether in their pure form or when mixed with other fuels. The most common applications of the biofuels are in the road transport, in combined heat and power plants (CHP) and in heat generation facilities.

The company provides a wide range of biofuels to meet the various specifications required. They work closely with their clientele to understand their requirements in detail.  They then recommend the suitable product that will solve the need and thus set up a mutual supply chain.

Here are the various biofuels and bio liquid products that MBP has to offer.

1.MBP fatty acids Ethylesters

This product is ideal for use in diesel engines such as those of trucks and stationeryengines in CHP plants installations. It is possible to mix itwith biodiesel or the regular fossil diesel, the fatty acid ethylester is mainly suitable for use in the winter period to act as a winterizing agent since it lowers the melting point temperatures.

2.MBP Fatty Acids Distillations Residues

This type of biofuel is an alternative for the heating oils. It is available in a vegetable or mixed formand in various rheological characteristics. The fatty acids distillation residues can be of use in the processes of heat generation or steam generation.

3.MBP Methylester Distillation Residues

This is a substitute for the heavy fuel oils and diesel. The methylester distillation residues can be of use in processes such as the heat or steam generation and in stationary CHP units. They are available in vegetable or in mixed origin.

4.MBP High Melting Point Distillation Residues

This biofuel product is a substitute use for heavy fuel in robust burners whereby the one using the burners has the necessary equipment to handle this fuel since it has a very high melting point and high levels of ash and contaminants.

5.MBP Bio liquid Blend

This bio liquidblendfrom MBPaims to meet the customers’ diverse requirements. It is available in vegetable or mixed origin.

Conclusion

MBP is aware of the concerns raised by the public when it comes to the application of primary oils as a source of fuel instead of using them for human consumption. The company has addressed this issue through their sustainability policy, which emphasizes on the use of biofuels and bio liquids from waste and by-products only and not primary oils. This move has enabled MBP assist other industries to go green by improving their by-product management.
